After careful consideration and as part of a larger strategic decision, Flock has decided to discontinue the IFTTT app. We regret the inconvenience this decision may cause but are pleased to announce the support of an alternate app - Zapier. Zapier provides a rich platform of supported integrations and workflows that can power the automation you need.
When will my IFTTT integration stop working?
We will discontinue our IFTTT integration with 21st June, 2019 as the final date of service.
What is my alternate solution?
Zapier! You could use Zapier to setup a fresh integration to achieve similar automation as your older IFTTT integration.
Open Flock > Click the Apps icon (bottom right corner) > Search Zapier in the Flock Appstore > Click Visit site to configure.
You may then setup your desired integration in Zapier. You may read the Zapier medium article for more information.
Does Zapier support all the IFTTT integrations?
There may be apps that are supported on IFTTT but not on Zapier. We’ve noticed Blogger, Android SMS & Call, Amazon Alexa, etc. to be some integrations that are currently not present on Zapier. Nevertheless, Zapier maintains a list of apps that are currently in development or planned development at some point in the future, which can be browsed here.
You can explore all the app integrations and services on Zapier here.
What is Zapier and how does it work?
Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favourite apps, such as Flock, Gmail, MailChimp, and over 1,000 more. You can build Zaps to connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration.
A Zap is a blueprint for a recurring task you want to perform. In other words, a Zap looks like this: "When I get a new thing in A, do this other thing in B." The first part is the Trigger and the second part is the Action. Zapier supports hundreds of apps. You can mix and match triggers and actions to automate just about anything.
A good example would be "When I get a new email on my Gmail account, send its notification to a specified Flock channel.”
To start things off, you may take a quick look at Zapier's Youtube page and the user guide to help you get a clearer understanding about what Zapier does.
