Mailcast app

Mailcast is a pre-installed app that directly integrates mailing list functionality into Flock. With Mailcast, you can easily send important memos or project update emails with just a click, without having to remember and type numerous email addresses.

For every channel you create on Flock, Mailcast creates a unique email address that you can use to email every participant of the group. In addition, you can use the app to create your own mailing lists independent of channels. You can even add external collaborators, people who are not a part of your Flock team, to mailing lists you create in the Mailcast app.

To use Mailcast for a channel:

Desktop	Open the channel you want to email. Eg. Dev Talk. Click on the channel's name in the Chat tab. Click on the Mailcast icon. image-shadow Copy the auto-generated mail address of the group. E.g. devtalk@flockgroups.com You can now use this email address to send an email to all Dev Talk channel members.

To create a new mailing list:

• Open any channel, launch Mailcast from the Chat Tab panel, and click on Create New.

• Give the mailing list a name and description, and click on Create.

• In the next screen, click on Add Members.
  You'll notice that the creator of a mailing list is added to it automatically.

• In the pop-up window, enter email addresses of colleagues separated by commas. You can also add people who are not a part of your Flock team.

• Team members that you add to a mailing list will be automatically subscribed to it.
• External collaborators added to a mailing list will receive an invite email to subscribe to it.

• As the creator of the mailing list, you now become its admin.
• You can edit, delete, and deactivate mailing lists that you’ve created.
• You can also manage who can send emails via your mailing lists in Settings.

To edit a mailing list:

• Open any channel, launch Mailcast from the Chat Tab panel, and click on Manage Lists.
• Click on the ellipsis button at the end of each mailing list, and click on Manage.

Unsubscribe from a mailing list:

• You can unsubscribe from a mailing list in the Mailcast app.
• Open any channel, launch Mailcast from the Chat Tab panel, and click on Manage Lists.
• Click on the Subscribe button next to the name of the mailing list, and click on Unsubscribe.

To deactivate or delete a mailing list:

• You can also deactivate or delete older mailing lists.
• Open any channel, launch Mailcast from the Chat Tab panel, and click on Manage Lists.
• Click on the ellipsis button at the end of each mailing list, and click on Deactivate or Delete.
