Migrating your team from Slack to Flock is easy. When you import data from your Slack workspace, a new Flock team is created with your users, channels, and conversations.

Slack allows all workspace owners and admins to export and download all public channel data. Only teams on Plus and Enterprise Grid plans can download all workspace data including public and private channels, and direct messages (but not apps, bot messages, and guest accounts). |
Option 1: Import public channel data from Slack
- Make sure you are the admin of your Slack team.
Only Team Owners and Admins can export team data from Slack. - Turn on Email Display to import users' full data.
Visit my.slack.com/admin/settings to change settings. - Export all team data in a .zip file from Slack.
Head over to my.slack.com/services/export and start the data export process from Slack.
If you are using Safari on Mac, please ensure that the browser does not automatically decompress the .zip file after downloading. In the "General" tab of Safari preferences, uncheck "Open 'safe' files after downloading" to stop Safari from doing so.
Option 2: Import all workspace data from Slack
- Make sure you are the admin of your Slack team.
Only Team Owners and Admins can export team data from Slack. - Request for all your workspace data from Slack.
Head over to my.slack.com/services/export and click Apply Here. - Once your request is approved, you'll be able to download all workspace data in a .zip file.

Import Slack team data to Flock
- Create a Flock team and go to the Admin Panel.
- Click Import Team on the left and then click the Import Team button for Slack.

- Upload the .zip file exported from Slack and choose a web address for your new Flock team.

- Optional: Send email invites to all team members.
- You will be notified via email once the import is complete.
